The GW Hatchet reports, “Filmmaker and author Michael Moore will host a town hall discussion on capitalism next Tuesday in the Dorothy Betts Marvin Theatre. The event is cosponsored by GW College Democrats, Program Board and ThinkTalk.com, which will tape and broadcast the event.”
Michael Moore? Seriously? Are the College Dems really sinking that low? Why bring an anti-American, communist, radical leftist hack to come speak on economics? First off, I would like to know what Michael Moore knows about economics. If you want a liberal to come speak on economics, please, bring Paul Krugman of the New York Times, a Nobel Prize winning economist and Princeton professor. Better yet, host a debate between a liberal econmist, such as Krugman and a conservative one, such as Ben Stein. Just don’t bring a polemist filmmaker with absolutely no credentials to speak on our economic system. We are college students; there should be some air of intellectualism in debate. GWU is good school; we should invite intelligent, accomplished scholars, not radical ideologues.
Come on College Democrats, you can do better than that.
